Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojna Objectives

To lift SC communities out of poverty by generating employment opportunities through skill development and income-generating schemes. To enhance socio-economic indicators by strengthening infrastructure and services in SC dominated villages. To promote literacy and school enrolment among SCs, to facilitate access to quality education. Components:

Income Generation Schemes

To encourage entrepreneurship among SCs. Provide subsidy of Rs.10,000 per beneficiary or % of the loan. Skill Development Programmes:

  • Promote capacity building through training.
  • Align skill training with national framework.
  • Infrastructure Development:
  • Implement development projects in SC-dominated villages to bridge development gaps.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Allocate up to 4% of grants-in-aid for supervision, monitoring and evaluation of economic development schemes.
  • Allow up to 1% of total funds for administrative expenses of State SC Corporations.

Criteria for Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojna

  • SC persons living below the poverty line are eligible for income-generating schemes and skill development programmes.
  • Villages with more than 50% SC population are eligible for infrastructure development grants.
  • Coverage:
    Applicable in 28 States/UTs.
  • Not Covered:
  • States: Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Mizoram
  • Union Territories: Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Ladakh and Lakshadweep.
